there once was a woodsman named Dale
he did not deliver the mail
he cut down big trees
with the greatest of ease
he definitely was not frail

we were thankful to see him drive up
his coffee we gave in a cup
but it was too strong
he broke out in song
for that we sure tried to make up

sawdust everywhere such a beautiful sight
sawdust everywhere makes me want to cry

so thankful to him we sure are
I wish I could buy him a car
may God bless our Dale
with some Holy Grail
or maybe a shiny gold star
